Finding the right English and maths tutor can make a real difference to a child's academic success. Bhanzu helps children build strong literacy and communication skills in English, and genuine confidence and mastery in maths, through live online classes taught by tutors from the top 2%.
Neelakantha Bhanu holds the world record as the Fastest Human Calculator. He founded Bhanzu with one mission: to eliminate maths anxiety and help every child discover the joy of mathematical thinking. The Bhanzu maths curriculum, refined through 60+ iterations, is built on his belief that understanding "why" always beats memorising "how."
English and maths are the two subjects that follow a UK child everywhere: Year 6 SATs, the 11-plus, and the two core GCSEs colleges look at first. It makes complete sense to sort tuition for both at once.
These are the two subjects where the right teacher makes the biggest difference, and the wrong one does real damage. Both deserve a genuinely good tutor, not whoever happens to be free.
Bhanzu offers expert tutoring in both English and maths. Whether it's reading, writing and communication or problem-solving and mathematical thinking, your child gets a specialist tutor for the subject.
English and maths are taught live and online by tutors from the top 2%, the kind of teaching that turns "I can't" into "watch me."
"A weak tutor hands a child rules to memorise. A strong one starts with why, so the child understands instead of guesses. That difference is the whole game, in English and in maths."
A Bhanzu tutor isn't a graduate with a notebook. Your child gets a complete, structured programme, with a diagnostic, a curriculum, a method, and a tutor who stays with them. Here's what's actually behind the screen.
Before the first real lesson, your child's tutor runs a quiet, no-judgement diagnostic to find the actual foundation, not the year group on the register. A good tutor never jumps straight into the syllabus; this one step tells your tutor the exact gap to close first.
Your tutor doesn't improvise from the school textbook. They teach an 18-month, 150-session maths curriculum built by Neelakantha Bhanu Prakash. It's non-linear. It follows the logical progression of how a young brain learns maths, which is often very different from the textbook order. The result is deeper understanding and faster progress.
A 1:1 tutor is expensive; a coaching room of 25 is anonymous. Bhanzu sits in the sweet spot, just 6 students per tutor. Small enough that your tutor knows every child's strengths and gaps, large enough that there's a real classroom dynamic and a peer group. Individual attention without the individual price tag.
No rotating roster of strangers. Your child keeps the same tutor for the full programme, in the same time slot each week. Your tutor remembers where your child started, where they struggled, and where it suddenly clicked, the relationship that turns a tutor into a mentor your child trusts.
The thing a great tutor does that the school teacher couldn't: start with why. Every topic opens with a story, a real-world question, a visual model, the method comes second, the practice third. Children who learn the concept first can reason their way through an unfamiliar SATs or GCSE question instead of freezing on it.
A general tutor leaves a worksheet and disappears until next week. Bhanzu gives your child Brain Gym, an unlimited bank of maths problems calibrated to their exact level that keeps adapting as they improve. Practice that gets harder as they get better, without the boredom of identical sheets.
Your tutor can't be on call at 9 PM, but Bhanzu Buddy can. It's an AI doubt-solver trained on the Bhanzu maths curriculum that walks your child through a stuck problem with guiding questions instead of just handing over the answer. Tutor-style help between sessions, on demand.
A general local tutor means your child learns alone, no peers, no classroom dynamic, no sense of how they stack up. At Bhanzu, your child's classmates are in Dubai, Singapore and London, in the same live session, hearing the same explanation. The best maths tutor for your child isn't limited to your area. It's the whole world.
Early number work alongside the Year 1 phonics check. The foundations that everything later is built on.
The Year 4 multiplication tables check and Year 6 SATs in maths, alongside English reading and grammar.
Grammar-school entry, testing maths, English, and verbal and non-verbal reasoning together.
The bridge to GCSE, where earlier gaps quietly widen if they aren't fixed in time.
GCSEs, where a grade 4 is a standard pass. English and maths are the core grades colleges look at first.
A weak tutor drills rules to memorise. A strong one starts with why (the idea behind the rule, the reason behind the paragraph) so the child understands instead of guesses. That's what separates a child who freezes on an unfamiliar question from one who reasons their way through it.
Every Bhanzu tutor is a subject specialist, passes a rigorous 2% selection process, and trains for 100+ hours in teaching before facing a single child. They start your child at their real level, not the year group on the register, find the actual gap, and build from there. English and maths, both done exceptionally.
Every Bhanzu tutor is a subject specialist, chosen from the top 2% of roughly 5,000 applicants each month, and trained for 100+ hours in the Bhanzu method before ever facing a student. They're reviewed through AI-monitored sessions and rated by students after every class, and must hold at least 4.7/5 to keep teaching. Our tutor base spans 354 cities across India and beyond.
Every child is different. Speak with a Bhanzu learning counsellor who'll understand where your child is in English and maths, answer your questions, and help you decide whether Bhanzu is the right fit, with zero pressure.
